Discussion 16.1: Favorite Speech
My favorite speech that I did was about Dining Etiquette. This was not my best speech I did for this class I believe however I did learn a lot of new information and how to conduct myself better in a speech. During this speech I learned several other things too—for example, how to conduct myself. During the speech I depended on my powerpoint or the laptop too much because it was a safe guard and also because I was not used to presenting with a powerpoint presentation. The dining etiquette speech was also my favorite because it was a topic that was very interesting and crucial to learn about. Every day, dining etiquette is used around the world so knowing about dining etiquette important.

Hey kiwimango!
ReplyDeleteI remember your speech! This one was fun to listen to. My friend and I were actually taking notes on your speech! We were not really aware that plates and the utensils meant certain things as they are placed in certain spots. This was a super cool topic. I agree with you that dining etiquette is important, because people are always invited to go eat. Dining is an essential part in revealing your personality in my opinion. Or at least to show your respects and what not. I enjoyed giving my informative speech also, because it was something that definitely relates to everyone in the audience.
Hello Miss KiwiMango!
ReplyDeleteI wasn't able to see your Dining Etiquette speech, but it does sound like a interesting topic that I would of definitely paid attention to your speech if I was there! It is a good thing you learned a lot from that speech & it seemed like others had also learned something like Genurr. I had a class in high school that had a section where our teacher taught us about formal dining & I learned a lot. It is a good thing that you chose your informative speech topic on that because we will probably need it in the future & it show proper etiquette :]
I wish I didn’t miss your speech, because I could of probably learned a lot of things about dining etiquette! I’m surprised you chose this as your favorite speech since it wasn’t your best, since most people choose the one they did the best on. That’s great you learned a lot of new information and how to conduct yourself. I understand that PowerPoints are looked as a safe guard, but hopefully all of us can learn to not depend on it while presenting a speech. Great point stated: “Every day, dining etiquette is used around the world so knowing about dining etiquette is important”. True statement, and maybe Americans should learn!
ReplyDeleteHi KiwiMango,
ReplyDeleteYep, sometimes our best speech is not our favorite because it might be something that we're not interested in. Anyways, I thought the dining etiquette speech was interesting and I was amazed because everyone needs to know what it means and how it works. This is because in the future, everyone will, at least once, encounter a formal party or attend to a very serious dinner and that is when we need to use the ability that was presented by you. Then again, it's always interesting how we also learn from ourselves as we make our own speech
